Details for registrations below

To ensure fair play the NYFL requires all players to have  documentation that verifies age, grade and weight.  Important information as to what you will need and guidelines for signing up are detailed below.

  • Total player Registration cost for Tackle (3rd-6th grade) is $90.    Families with multiple children will have a max of $160.

  • Registration cost for Flag Football (K-2nd grade) is $50.

  • We also require a $100 equipment deposit for tackle players when you are given your equipment.  WE DO NOT DEPOSIT THIS CHECK!  It is held in a file and will only be deposited if you do not return your child's equipment.  When equipment is returned at the end of the year, we return your check/deposit.  Football equipment is very expensive, we do this to protect the league from unnecessary expenses.

  •  You will need to provide a copy of your child's birth certificate as well as a copy of a report card from the last school year (preferably a final report card), or something from the school verifying your child's last completed grade level.   The NYFL requires us to keep this information in our team books.  If you are a returning player, we should only need a copy of your most recent report card.

  • Players must participate in 3 practices before they can do contact drills (full pads) and must participate in 6 practices before they are eligible for games.

  • Jr. Division (3rd-4th grade) - Maxiumum Weight 120 lbs

  • Sr. Division (5th-6th grade) - Maximum Weight 143 lbs

  • Weigh In's will be held at the Preseason Combine, final chance to Weigh In will be the week after at Stillwater High school.

  • A player only has to make weight ONCE by either of the weigh in dates. Once a player has made the weight, they will not be weighed again for the season.

  • To play in games all players weight and paperwork must be verified by the NYFL by this final weigh in date.  If a player's paperwork is only turned in on this date, then the player will not be eligible to play game 1 of the season.  If a player does not register and weigh in by this date they are still welcome to participate in practices with the team, but may not play in games.

  • League Rules state that all players MUST play in every game.  Depending on the total roster size all players must play a minimum of 4, 6 or 8 plays per game.  It's our goal to do better than this for each kid, but we take a lot into consideration to determine this.  Safety, practice participation, work ethic, knowledge/understanding and physical abilities all factor into this.
